The Village of Dennison, with a population of 2,753 is located in Tuscarawas County. Conveniently located in East Central Ohio, Dennison is a great place to call home. Located at the junction of State Routes 36, 250 and 800, the Village offers small town living, with access to many metropolitan areas. Interstate 77 is a short drive from the village. Dennison is approximately thirty-five miles south of Canton, Ohio, eighty five miles east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, ninety miles south of Cleveland, Ohio, and one hundred miles west of Columbus, Ohio.  

Educational opportunities are available from pre-school thru college. The Village is situated within the Claymont City School District.  Immaculate Conception Elementary is within the Village, and it is a short drive to Tuscarawas Central Catholic High School. In addition, Buckeye Joint Vocational School, Kent State University Tuscarawas Regional Campus, and the Starlight School for the Developmentally Disabled are nearby.

Area churches include, but are not limited to Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Nazarene, Foursquare Gospel, Christian Church (Disciples of Christ & Independent), Church of God, Moravian, Baptist and several independent community churches.

The Village is proud to have Trinity Twin City Hospital, Trinity Medical Group, and Ten Lakes Center as part of the community. Other medical services include dentists, physical therapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, and hospice.

Dennison is home to the Annual Dennison Railroad Festival, celebrating Dennison’s railroad heritage, and the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, a National Historic Landmark. Other nearby museums include the Clay Museum, Schoenbrunn Village, Warther Museum and Gardens, and the Reeves Mansion.

The Performing Arts Center at the Kent State University Tuscarawas Regional Campus offers a variety of performances, by many different nationally known artists and groups, throughout the year. Trumpet In The Land, An Outdoor Drama, is presented annually during the summer at the Schoenbrunn Amphitheater. Professional and local actors comprise the cast. The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County presents several productions throughout the year. Polar Express Train Rides (Presented by the Depot Railroad Museum) are offered each year during the Christmas Season.

The Village maintains three parks, and is the trailhead for the Panhandle Trail, a walking and bicycle trail. For the outdoor enthusiast there is boating access, nearby, to the Big Stillwater Creek & Tuscarawas River. Dennison is within one half hour of four Muskingum Watershed Lakes & Parks (Tappan, Atwood, Clendening and Leesville) that offer a myriad of outdoor activities. A water park is also nearby.

Local restaurants include The Over The Rail Diner (inside the Dennison Depot Museum), Dennison Yard, Pangrazio’s Pizza & Spaghetti, Berni’s Italian Deli & Cafe, Bates Restaurant Lounge, Jerry’s Restaurant, El Pueblito Mexican Restaurant, Lucky Wok, Thornwood Grill and a variety of chain pizza shops and fast food establishments. 

Area retail businesses include CVS and Rite Aide Pharmacies, Makos Market & Pharmacy, Dollar General Market, Dollar General Stores, Save-A- Lot Market, Family Dollar, First National Bank, Stillwater Outfitters, Community Hospice Resale Store and the Dollar Tree. There is a Claymont Public Library Branch and a Post Office within the Village Close by are New Towne Mall, Auto Dealers, Walmart, and restaurants such as Applebee’s, Texas Roadhouse, and Red Lobster.
